🎸 Jeff Buckley's version, for piano and voice
The guitar part from the 1994 recording, transcribed for piano, under the vocal line.
Hallelujah is a song by Leonard Cohen, released in 1984 on the album Various Positions and rewritten over several years through dozens of verses. It was Jeff Buckley who made it unforgettable: on his album Grace, in 1994, he sings it alone with his electric guitar, in a slow, stripped-back version that film and countless covers went on to establish. Here it is that guitar accompaniment that moves to the piano, under the vocal line, to bring the mood of the recording to the keyboard rather than a simple chord chart. Enough to accompany a voice, your own or someone else's, on the cover everyone is waiting for.
