The Godfather love theme was composed by Nino Rota for Francis Ford Coppola's 1972 film, and quickly became one of the most recognisable instrumental motifs in cinema, earning a Grammy Award. Heard worldwide over the opening credits and covered in countless versions since, its melancholic melody, carried by a slow waltz, has become a classic in its own right, independent of the film itself. This is the licensed instrumental version, with no lyrics.
